Who we are and what this policy covers
HyperOrbit ("we", "us") operates hyperorbit.ai and the HyperOrbit product. We are headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, United States, with teams in the US, India and Singapore. For anything in this policy, write to agent@hyperorbit.ai with "Privacy" in the subject line.
This policy covers:
- The website, hyperorbit.ai, including its forms, the demo booking flow, the guides and templates, the ROI calculator, the maturity assessment, the Ask Orbit assistant and the App Review Analyzer.
- The HyperOrbit research tools, the free Chrome extensions listed at hyperorbit.ai/resources/research-tools. Sales Intent Finder installs as "HyperOrbit SalesIntent" and Feedback Analyzer installs as "HyperOrbit Feedback Analyzer". The Chrome extensions section is written for the Chrome Web Store user data policy and says exactly what each extension reads, sends and stores.
- Data about people who work at our customers, in so far as it reaches us through the website. Customer data that flows through the HyperOrbit product under a subscription is covered by the customer agreement and data processing agreement, which take precedence for that data (see Product data).
What we collect
We collect three kinds of information: what you type into a form, what your browser sends automatically, and what the tools on this site need in order to work. We do not buy data about you, append it from data brokers, or collect payment details, government identifiers or any special category of data on this website.
Information you give us
| When | What we ask for |
|---|---|
| Book a demo | Name, LinkedIn profile URL, work email, the slot you pick |
| Get started free or Sign in (workspace request) | Name, work email, the agents you want to start with |
| Open a guide or template | Name, work email |
| Download a research tool or ask to be notified when one is ready | Name, work email, LinkedIn profile URL |
| Email me the numbers (ROI calculator) | Work email and the figures you typed into the calculator |
| Maturity assessment proposal | Name, work email, company, role and your answers |
| Download the deck (App Review Analyzer) | Name, work email |
| Orbit TV, from the second lesson on, or to open a transcript | Name, email (any address) |
| Contact form, careers and document requests | Name, work email and whatever you write in the message |
Every one of these forms has a consent box that links to this policy, and the form does not send until you tick it.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard web server logs: IP address, browser and operating system, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use them for security and to keep the site running.
- Consent and convenience settings kept in your own browser, listed under Cookies, local storage and analytics.
- Analytics, only if you click Accept on the cookie notice, described in the same section.
Information the site tools need
- Ask Orbit, the assistant at the bottom of each page, sends the question you type and the last few turns of that conversation to our answering function, which passes them to a language model provider so it can reply from the site's own content. Your IP address is counted in the function's memory for the day to limit abuse and is not written to a database. Conversations are not stored on our side once the answer is returned.
- App Review Analyzer takes the App Store or Google Play link you paste, fetches a small sample of that app's most recent public reviews from Apple or Google, and analyses them. The reviews are public; the link and the results are not stored on our servers. The deck is built in your browser.
How we use it, and on what basis
- To do what you asked for: send the guide, book the slot, reply to your message, email the numbers, notify you when a tool is ready, deliver the download. Basis: the steps you asked us to take before entering a contract, or your consent.
- To follow up, once, by a person, if you booked a demo, requested a workspace or asked for a walkthrough. Basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who have shown interest in the product, balanced against your interest in not being chased.
- To send the newsletter if you subscribed, with an unsubscribe link in every issue. Basis: consent.
- To understand how the site is used and which companies visit it, through the analytics tools listed below, only after you accept the cookie notice. Basis: consent.
- To keep the site and our services secure, using server logs and rate limits. Basis: legitimate interest.
- To meet legal obligations, such as responding to a lawful request or a data subject request.
We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use anything you give us on this website to train machine learning models.
Chrome extensions: Sales Intent Finder and Feedback Analyzer
This section applies to the research tools published under the HyperOrbit developer account on the Chrome Web Store. Sales Intent Finder installs as "HyperOrbit SalesIntent"; Feedback Analyzer installs as "HyperOrbit Feedback Analyzer". Both work the same way, so they are described together, with the differences noted.
What each extension collects
- Website content, only when you click. Nothing is read until you open the extension on a page and press its analyse button. At that moment the extension reads the text of the current tab only. Sales Intent Finder reads the posts and comments on the Reddit page you are viewing, including the username shown next to each post, so that results can link back to their source. Feedback Analyzer reads the review text on the page you are viewing, for example a G2, Capterra or app store reviews page, together with the product name. Neither extension reads other tabs, your browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, form input or anything on pages you have not asked it to analyse, and neither runs in the background.
- Your API key and model choice. Each extension runs on a language model API key that you bring: Cohere for Sales Intent Finder, Anthropic for Feedback Analyzer. The key and your model settings are saved in Chrome's extension storage on your own device. We never see the key.
- Nothing else. The extensions do not ask for an account, do not collect your name or email, do not send usage statistics, crash reports or analytics, and do not contact hyperorbit.ai. The only link to our site is the "Powered by HyperOrbit" line in the popup, which opens the website like any other link if you click it.
Where the data goes
- The page text is sent, over HTTPS, directly from your browser to the model provider whose key you configured: api.cohere.com for Sales Intent Finder, api.anthropic.com for Feedback Analyzer. Each extension's manifest permits requests to that one host and no other. The provider processes the text under its own terms and the account you hold with it; we are not a party to that processing and receive nothing from it.
- No page text, results, keys or identifiers are transmitted to HyperOrbit or to any other third party.
What is stored, and for how long
- API key and settings: in Chrome's local extension storage on your device until you change them or uninstall the extension.
- Results: cached in Chrome's session storage, keyed by the page URL, so the popup can be closed and reopened without a second API call. Session storage is cleared when you close the browser.
- Uninstalling the extension removes both. Nothing is stored on our servers because nothing is sent to them.
Getting the extension
Installing from the Chrome Web Store involves no data collection by us. If you download the extension package from hyperorbit.ai instead, the website asks for your name, work email and LinkedIn profile before the download, as described under What we collect. That form is part of the website, not the extension.
Third-party pages and people
The extensions read pages that other companies publish, such as Reddit, G2, Capterra, the App Store and Google Play. Your use of those sites is governed by their terms. The text on those pages may include names or usernames of the people who posted it; the extensions process that text for the analysis you requested and do not keep it beyond the session cache described above.
Limited use
Our use of information received from Google APIs and of the data the extensions handle adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. In plain words: the extensions use website content only to provide the analysis you asked for on the page in front of you; they do not transfer it to anyone other than the model provider you chose, and then only to produce that analysis; they do not use it for advertising, for credit-worthiness or lending, or for any purpose unrelated to the feature; and no human at HyperOrbit reads it.
Questions or removal
Because nothing reaches us, there is nothing for us to delete; uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored. For questions, write to agent@hyperorbit.ai.
Cookies, local storage and analytics
The site sets no advertising cookies. It uses your browser's local and session storage to remember a few conveniences: that you answered the cookie notice, that you dismissed the announcement banner for this visit, that you already unlocked a guide, which Orbit TV lessons you have played, the details you typed the last time you requested a research tool or workspace, and your saved assessment answers so you can come back to them. These stay in your browser until you clear this site's data; none of them are sent to us or to anyone else by being stored.
If you click Accept on the cookie notice, we load Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics, PostHog, Leadfeeder and Factors.ai. These set cookies and similar identifiers to measure page views and traffic sources, to see which pages lead to a demo request, and to identify the company a visit comes from so our sales team can follow up with relevant accounts. IP addresses are anonymised in Google Analytics, and PostHog only creates a profile for people who identify themselves, for example by booking a demo. If you click Close, none of that loads and only the strictly necessary storage above is used. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the notice back.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested, as it would for any web font.
Orbit TV, at hyperorbit.ai/tv, plays videos from our YouTube channel. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play on a video; at that point the player is embedded from youtube-nocookie.com, Google's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set advertising cookies but does receive your IP address and may store a device identifier in local storage. Your use of the player is governed by Google's privacy policy. The first lesson plays without asking; from the second lesson on, and to open a transcript, we ask once for your name and an email address, which this site remembers in your browser so you are not asked again.
Where it is processed
We are based in the United States, with teams in India and Singapore who may handle your request. The providers above run in the United States, the European Union and India, so data you submit on this website may be transferred across borders. Where the law of your country requires a transfer mechanism, we rely on the provider's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard. For people in India, we process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
How we protect it
- Every connection to hyperorbit.ai and from the Chrome extensions to a model provider uses HTTPS (TLS).
- Form submissions and CRM records are accessible only to the people at HyperOrbit who need them to respond to you, behind individual accounts with two-factor authentication.
- The extensions keep your API key on your device and never transmit it to us.
- The HyperOrbit product runs under a SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 control set; the website is a separate, static site with no customer data on it. Details are on the trust and compliance page.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay if a breach affects your data.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Form submissions, demo and workspace requests | While we are in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted from our inbox and CRM |
| Newsletter subscription | Until you unsubscribe |
| Server logs | Netlify's standard log retention, measured in days, not months |
| Ask Orbit questions | Not stored once the answer is returned; the per-day rate-limit count is discarded within a day |
| App Review Analyzer links and results | Not stored on our servers |
| Analytics data | According to each tool's retention setting, at most two years in Google Analytics |
| Browser storage on this site | Until you clear this site's data |
| Extension storage | Session cache until the browser closes; settings until you change them or uninstall |
Ask us to delete your data at any time and we will, from every system listed above, unless we must keep a record to meet a legal obligation.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask us to restrict how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw any consent you gave earlier. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.
Email agent@hyperorbit.ai with "Privacy" in the subject and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in India, the same address reaches our grievance contact under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
To stop analytics, click Close on the cookie notice or clear this site's data. To stop the newsletter, use the link in any issue. To remove everything a Chrome extension stored, uninstall it.
Children
This website and the research tools are for people who work in product, customer experience and revenue teams. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Product data
This page covers the marketing website and the research tools. Customer data that flows through the HyperOrbit product under a subscription is governed by the customer agreement and data processing agreement, which take precedence for that data. In short: your customers' conversations are read by the agents to produce your reads, are never shared or sold, and are never used to train models for anyone else. The sub-processor list and the security controls are on the trust and compliance page.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top and, for anything material, say so on the blog. The Chrome Web Store listings link to this page, so a change here applies to the extensions too.
